The Individual Poppy

So today The Royal British Legion launches their annual Poppy appeal. Having travelled to parts of the world embroiled in conflict - this time of year always reminds me of how very lucky we are to live in peaceful times.  Regardless of politics, we have to reflect on what type of world we would live in without this self sactifice.  Putting aside the wrongs and rights of war  - the Poppy Appeal to me is about recognising the individual.  By wearing the Poppy and donating money we are ensuring those who have been affected by war whether directly or indirectly have a safety net.  I for one will be wearing my Poppy!
